The Wordox Pro League "short version"
For those who want to understand the Leagues system quickly, here's the short version:
- The Wordox Pro League offers a competitive season over several weeks (as any sport championship).
- Everyone starts in the Bronze League (the lowest league).
- There are 5 League levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond and Elite.
- Each week you will find yourself in a group of 25 people who have reached the same league as you and your accumulated chips earned to establish ranking.
- At the end of the week, the top 5 of each group assemble in a superior league, the last 5 will descend to a lower league and the others are kept in the same league.
Note for those who love the competition: Those who reach the Diamond League and / or Elite will be interested in reading the long version to understand the differences with the lower levels.
Note to those who play the most "friendly championship": Those who prefer to keep only a competition with their friends can continue to do this by selecting "Leagues: Ranking of my friends". Click the link to learn more. Promise it is simple to do! :)
The Wordox Pro League "long version"
The "Wordox Pro League" is new, what is it?
Wordox allows all players to participate in the WPL, or "Wordox Pro League".
The idea behind WPL is for you to participate in an ongoing championship over several weeks, forming a season. During the year several seasons will be organized.
Each season offers a progression in several leagues to showcase the best players for each stage, and throughout the season for the most assiduous.
There are 5 different leagues within the WPL, including 2 special leagues:
- Bronze League
- Silver League
- Golden League
- Diamond League (Special)
- Elite League (Special)
The ultimate goal is to try to reach the most advanced league and to be ranked higher at the end of each season.
How to know when to start and when to finish a season?
The duration of a season is 3 months on average, with a few days break between each season; it is the famous "Offseason truce".
Follow the announcements on our Fan Page, which offers daily news, tips and mini-games to earn free chips.
How to join the WPL?
To join the WPL, simply play a game of Wordox. It's that simple! Whether you win or not, and whatever your level, you will be part of a group in the Bronze League.
The WPL runs parallel to other proposed events (Wordox Cup and other All Stars). This competition has its own rhythm and its own ranking, but each part counts for your progress.
Even if you arrive in the middle of season, no problem. You will start in the Bronze League and progress at your own pace. The idea is primarily to have fun and to pursue a higher league and compare yourself to other players.
How does each league work?
All players joining the WPL during a season will start in the Bronze League (there is an exception with the "Pre-Season", but we will get back to this later).
However, all players in the league (Bronze / Silver / Gold) are not grouped together in a single group. These leagues are divided into 25 groups of people.
Thus, early in the week, or when you start a season, you are placed in a group of 25 people. This group will remain the same until the end of the week.
From there, each week:
- The "Top 20%" (the first 5) will be promoted into higher league the week after.
- The "Flop 20%" (the last 5) will be relegated to the lower league (except of course for the Bronze League, since there is no league below it).
- Players ranging between those two groups will remain in the same league.
The Diamond League is a unique group: that is to say that all players in Diamond League are competing against each other. Only the top ranked players in this league will be promoted by the end of the week! Attention, the "Flop 20%" (20% of the players who won the least points during this period) will be relegated.
The Elite League is a unique and very special group, since it is reserved for the top 100 of the game. To get to Elite League, one would obviously need to climb the steps one by one before the end of the season.
The competition in this group is even more fierce since half of the group ("Flop 50%") will be relegated to the Diamond league at the end of the week.
The Top 3 in the Elite League have the opportunity to share their achievement on their Facebook wall.
How does the ranking of leagues work, and what are the different rankings available?
Like all of our ratings, rankings of the leagues are updated at the end of a party or when the game is updated (F5 function key). Do not be surprised if the score of the players in your group is updated at the same time as yours.
Rankings - similar to those for Wordox Cup - are based on the sum of the points/chips earned throughout the games played.
PS: This amount of chips is not a reward to be received since you've already received chips by winning the parts you played during the period.
To view the ranking of your group, simply click on the corresponding block "League X (your group)." You also have the opportunity to "unfold" the ranking (by clicking the small white arrow button on the right of the classification block).
By unfolding the rankings, you can select and monitor these assets rankings during the season:
- Your group: You and 24 other people are competing for a promotion or avoiding relegation (if you are Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum League). If you're in Diamond League or Elite League, "your group" represents that of all the League in question since these two leagues are unique groups.
- Bronze League (Top 100): The top 100 players in the Bronze league based on the number of tokens earned during the current period.
- Silver League (Top 100): The top 100 players of the Silver League based on the number of tokens earned during the current period.
- Golden League (Top 100): The top 100 players in the Golden league based on the number of tokens earned during the current period (or complete).
- Diamond League (Top 100): The top 100 players of the Diamond League based on the number of tokens earned during the current period.
- Elite League (Top 100): The top 100 players in the Elite League based on the number of tokens earned during the current period.
For now, there are no rewards associated with the Top 100 (except to being honored in the eyes of all the players in the league).
- Leagues: Ranking my Friends: You can compare yourself to your friends in this special classification that is classified by level of League and number of chips earned during the current period (or completed period). You can continue and even increase your competitions with friends! ;)
Examples of refolded and unfolded rankings:
Just click on the small white arrow to "unfold" or "fold" the rankings.
In the "unfolded" mode, you can select the different rankings by clicking on the area shown in red below, then click the one you want.
Examples of ranking "My friends in the Leagues":
What are the green, blue and red arrows that I see in the ranking of my group?
These icons are simply visual cues that tell you if your position will allow you (at the end of the week) to:
- To be promoted: green arrow up.
- To be maintained: blue arrow right.
- To be relegated: red arrow down.
What happens at the end of the week?
By the end of the week (or when the countdown reaches zero), you'll get a message that prompts you to reload your game.
Once charged, the game will display a page with the results of the week.
You can see:
- Your score (Warning: it is not a reward but rather the sum of your earnings the previous week).
- The League icon where you will be next week.
- A Promotion, Maintenance, or Relegation message.
- Your ranking in your group.
By unfolding the rankings you will have a complete assessment of the results of each player in your group, like the Top 100 different leagues.
How to break ties if players have the same number of Chips earned?
In case of a tie in the number of Chips earned, players will be separated according to the following criteria:
- Ratio wins/losses.
- Number of games.
- Date of arrival in the competition.
What happens if I do not play at all for 1 week?
Nothing serious! ;) Those of you who play a little or irregularly remain simply in the Bronze League; This allows you to keep a "leisure" type of practice, in respect to the pace of others.
So every week, if you do not play any games, you will remain in the Bronze League or be relegated to the lower league, if you had already climbed a few steps.
Can I quickly see which League a player belongs to?
Absolutely. Just click on the picture of a player to open his/her profile page and view the league in which he/she is. It is the same in your own profile page.
Remember, the gaming tables are NOT organized according to the League.
Do all the games that I play count for the classification of leagues?
Yes. Whether you play alone, with friends or against random opponents, all games are recognized for the classification of the current week. However, games that end after the countdown (displayed under classification), would not be taken into account.
What happens in the end of a season?
At the end of the season, we show you the results of the last period that was ended as well as a retrospective of the season. The best achievement in the league is highlighted.
When a season ends, you will find yourself a few days in the "Offseason truce".
No games during this truce, will account for the leagues.
Is my league kept from one season to the next?
No. After a season ends, your progress will be reset to allow everyone to have a fresh start.
However, we are preparing the implementation of an option/button that allows you to keep track of your past performance.
Who is the gift that I share early in the season for and how does it work?
When our events begin, we took the habit of accompanying them with a presentation page and a special gift.
This gift is sent to your friends. It costs you nothing except a click on the "Share" button.
Click on "Ignore" if you want to continue without offering Chips to your friends.
The first to click on the link will recover the amount indicated. Warning, a player may only retrieve one gift per event. Also, do not try to click on your own publication, you could be disappointed! ;)
